The Gathering Inn

The Gathering Inn started as a ministry offering a faith-based response to meet the needs of in the homeless community through nomadic housing. At Adventure we host The Gathering Inn as overnight accommodations on several different dates through the year. As the host site we provide our guest with dinner, a simple breakfast, a place to sleep and a message of hope, letting them see God's love in action. See www.thegatheringing.com

Some ways that you can help in this ministry are:

 -Serve a meal to our guest on our host night

 -Eat with and fellowship with our guest

 -Help set-up the room for our guest and help with clean-up

 -Provide the devotion for the evening

 -Run the sound/tech board for the evening

 -Teach a life skill clinic the night we are the hosting TGI

 -Provide a service such as free haircuts, manicures, etc.

 -Donate hygiene products (tooth paste, tooth brushes, soap etc)

Home Start

Home Start is a non-profit transitional housing corporation which serves Placer County's homeless children and their families. It provides accommodations, education, job search and assistance to families coming out of homelessness. We support Homes Start through volunteer support by doing pancake breakfast, bar-b-queue dinners and clean-up projects.

 

Some ways that you can help in this ministry are:

 -Help with assembling new set of bunk beds

 -Help with landscaping

 -Teaching Life Skills- budgeting, house management, cooking and nutrition, hygiene, etc.

 -Saturday morning pancake breakfast

 -Friday night bar-b-queue dinner



Acres of Hope

A homeless ministry for women and their children, who want to overcome their challenges in a Christ-centered environment. Acres provides a home and a program to ensure positive changes in the lives of the mothers and their children that will transfer through generations.

 

Some ways that you can help in this ministry are:

 -Be a (female) mentor to a mom

 -Help with child care

 -Tutor

 -Maintenance-yard or household repair

 -Office- bookkeeping or data entry



Love Them Both

Love Them Both Ministry operates a maternity home which provides care and support for up to four pregnant girls at a time, it is called Sierra House. The women have a safe haven in which to stay while they await the birth of their baby. The woman makes the choice to parent or adopt out. The home provides the support and training to help this be the right decision.

 

Some ways that you can help in this ministry are:

 -Meal preparation: Cooking and teaching the guest moms to cook for a family

 -Teach budgeting, nutrition, housekeeping skills (resumes, help getting & keeping a job)

 -Help with completing a GED

 -Adopt a mom- be a mentor

 -House upkeep and repairs
